we also know that BRAIN is the head of the human nervous system and is complex in human organs and it is also a very complicated organ to manage in the human body.
The human brain controls the conscious and unconscious and controllable and uncontrollable activities. Such as, breathing, digestion, heart beat, sleeping, yawning.
In the human brain there are 50-100 billion neurons. The cells in the human brain can send about 100 trillion signals at once.
how brain differentiate sounds?
The brain deals complex things and sensory things, while coming to the hearing activities, the ear plays an important role to convert vocal language in to the sound waves. The sound waves enter to the ear and travel to the narrow passage way called ear canal which leads to the ear drum to hear.
The ear drum vibrates to the sound waves and send these to the brain through three tiny bones in the ear. They are malleus, incus and stapes.
The bones in the middle ear increase the vibrations of sound and send these sound waves to the inner ear through a fluid which is like snail shaped structure.
when the vibrations cause with the fluid it starts to travel with the help of hair cells. The hair cells near the snail shaped cochlea differentiate the sounds in to high and low. The hair cells near the cochlea detect the high sounds like baby crying. And, center detect the low sounds like dogs barking.
when the hair cells moves up and down the cells in the fluid rush the vibrations to electric signals.
then that electric signals are known that the sounds which we are understand.
unlike the sensory organs like eyes and nose the ears are takes lots of actions to perform, and it has lot of moving parts. But, we cant see it or feel it.
sounds and voices?
the brain differentiate the sounds by two
1.voice of the speaker
2.content of the speaker.
researchers shows that the brain focus what he wants to hear the content of the voice or the voice of speaker..
To find out these speech mechanisms the researchers developed meaningless pseudo words. Which words or spoken by three different voices with different vocal ranges. They wanted to see that to which the brain was focusing it, to the voice or the speech. Result, they discovered that the auditory complex amplifies the aspects of sounds, depending on the intentions. For, the voices the main focus was on the processing voice specific information. While the phoneme specific information was important for the differentiation of speech sounds.
