SUCCESS RATE OF BRAIN SURGERY

           maximum brain surgeries rates in the long term survival are 50% to 70%. Except, in the cases of tumors the successful rates are very less. The chances of survivals and success are significantly changed.

  Awake brain surgery has the potential for risks and complications. Its include bleeding, brain swelling , infection, brain damage or death. Other risk factors may include seizures, muscle weakness, and problems with memory and thinking.

Any type of brain surgery presents a high risk to the patients because the brain controls and functions of the body. But, a craniectomy presents even more risk. 

wake up after surgery:

 most people wake up a few hours after their brain surgery. But, sometimes doctors decides to keep asleep for a few days after surgery, to help you recover. they use sedatives to keep you asleep while you are sleep, you might be breathing through a machine called ventilator.

things to avoid after surgery:

keeps your salt levels low. salt is known to raise the blood pressure and increase the risk of stroke.

avoid sugary foods and drinks.

avoid caffeinated drinks.

limit your intake of processed and fatty foods.

be cautious with supplements.

full recovery from brain surgery:

     you will feel tired for several weeks. you may feel or suffer from headaches or concentrating. It can take 4 to 8 weeks to recover from surgery. your incisions may be sore for about 5 days after surgery.

is it possible live normal life:

some people recover well after surgery, but it can take some time. other people have some problems, or long term difficulties. the problems you may have depends on the area of the brain where the tumor was.

side effects after brain surgery:

cataracts

problems with thinking, memory, language or judgement.

epilepsy

hearing loss

infertility

migraine attacks

a tumor developing somewhere else

numbness, pain, weakness or loss of vision resulting from nerve damage(but these complications are rare).

does hair grow after surgery:

    After the operation, your hair will grow back where it has been shaved. once the wound on you head has healed, and your stitches or clips have been removed, you can wash your hair and use your hair products as usual. you can also dye or treat your hair  once the wound has healed.
